2025 Jimmy Carter Jamboree Season Wrap
The 2025 Jimmy Carter Jamboree season wraps up, it’s 9th year. We are now refining our mission and approach to help educate and inspire the public about Carter’s approach to leadership, policy as well as his stand as a private citizen, after all, Carter said the most powerful position is that of a private citizen, more powerful than the President of the United States. We aim to make him right! This year we were proud to team up with the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School of Peace and Conflict Resolution, as we organized a music fundraiser to send California High School Students to the 2026 Summer Conflict Resolution program. This became an effort we will continue to build on! In addition, we were so proud to participate in the 2025 World Forum for Democracy, sponsored by The Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France. You can see the transmission here. We were so inspired by many of the other speakers and their ideas that we will implement some of them in 2026, our tenth year, as we celebrate US President Jimmy Carter! Stay tuned!
2024 Jimmy Carter Jamboree Season Wrap
The 2024 Jimmy Carter Jamboree season wraps up leaving us to reflect on all those across California who supported this effort to honor and celebrate President Jimmy Carter on his 100th Birthday. Seven counties issued Proclamations with many calling for a Jimmy Carter Week: Alameda, Humboldt, Tuolomne, San Diego, Sacramento, Sutter, Santa Cruz and Alameda, we are so happy to share words and moments with you.
On September 29, Orick’s Chamber of Commerce Donna Hufford accepted a proclamation from Humboldt Supervisor Steve Madrone. Carter had expanded the Redwood National Park in the late 1970s and Orick serves as the gateway town. A herd of Roosevelt Elk surrounded the community hall after the event and we were all humbled.
On October 1, Marin TV hosted a two hour live broadcast with ABC anchor Spencer Christian. Guests included Human Rights/Project Censored journalist Mischa Geracoulis, Ocean Conservation Research Director Michael Stocker and musicians/videos by artists José Neto, Narada Michael Walden, Steve Wolf, Mason Holcomb and Randall Sequeira. Omid Shamsapour of Marin TV also joined us as guest to wish his father a happy birthday, which was the same day, and shared words about the Middle East, peace and hope.
